Coming from the North East part of India where Industrial exposure is limited, I researched many colleges and decided to study at HIT as it is located in the heart of the Uttarakhand Capital city and is the Best hotel management institute of India. A healthy learning environment at the campus, group projects, team presentations and participation in events organised by student led clubs helped me overcome my shy nature and get a campus placement early in the eight semester in one of India’s most prestigious hotel chain. A lot of investment is made on preparing the students for their careers through active corporate mentoring, classroom to corporate classes, corporate skills development sessions and extensive industry exposure. When I first learnt about HIT, I heard many good things and in hindsight each of the positive things I heard were accurate. From the first day of college, HIT has tried to get me ready for the Corporate world through my multiple internships and live projects with leading brands, various Industrial visits, corporate speaker series and all of it obviously culminating in great campus placements. From the campus I got placed in one of India’s most popular Hotel companies in 2023 much before finishing my 8th Semester. The college helped me get placed the World’s biggest Hotel chain Westin. Experienced and specialized faculties have stretched me to reach my full potential through continual challenges and support with special pattern 60% practical and 40% theory which helps to become full package to hotel industry. Such a sheer amount of experience before completion of my degree has helped me differentiate my resume from others and perform well in the placement sessions.

I came to HIT with the Goal of Learning one new thing every day and today when I look back at the year that has elapsed, I feel it was an amazing journey full of learning and meaningful experiences. Joining Himalayan Institute of Technology Dehradun to pursue my BCA degree has definitely proved to be very helpful and fruitful in shaping a bright future ahead. The constant preparation throughout the 3 years at HIT and support from my faculties and placement cell ensured. I get an excellent placement with a top brand like Wipro despite the pandemic. Even during the Lockdown, the college ensured our studies aren’t adversely affected and transitioned to quality online classes and exams within a week. I am working in MNC due to my college efforts . This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the training provided by the HIT Placement cell. The Placement cell were always there to help me out in every aspect and were there for me whenever I needed their help. I acquired strong knowledge on aptitude, logical reasoning and soft skills . HITDOON has been a great contributor to the development of my personality. BSc Agri. Programme offered by HITDOON aims to provide fair and equal access to everyone. Students here are not restricted to particular specialization rather they gain sufficient exposure to different Agri function both practically and theoretically, also Students here are provided with Mentors who focuses on personal grooming. Three years down, I sit here and reminisce about the memories and adventures I’ve experienced. I realise that HIT wasn’t just a college; it gave me a home and friends I can call family. I recall walking through the hallway of HIT looking around, not knowing what to expect. In the beginning of my 6th semester, I got a final campus placement in my chosen profile with a renowned Wipro. However, due to the sudden outbreak of covid-19 and related business disruption, my joining got substantially delayed. At this point HIT was again very supportive and they helped me get an equally good alternate placement with a globally renowned IT company, TCS. Overall, my 3-year journey of professional growth at HIT was really thrilling and full of academic and corporate exposure. The Faculty has been quite supportive at every step. Even at the time of final placements, when I was struggling in my initial interviews, the faculty and placement team were very cooperative, they helped me identify my weakness and overcome it, so I could get placed in my dream company. My journey with HIT has been full of positivity and encouragement, from the first semester till the sixth semester. I am very proud to be a member of the HIT family and glad about my decision to join this prestigious Institute. HIT made me plan out my hotel management dream and the path to achieve it. The exposure was in Radission Blu 5 star hotel. I got personalized reviews about my interviews and shortcomings; HIT always ensures that each student gets individual attention. The college organises regular guest lectures which some of us due to our ignorance don’t value initially but it is one such guest lecture by the Chairman & MD of Roseate Hotels and Resorts which was the initial step to my final campus placement with Roseate Hotel, the India’s luxury hotel chain. The faculty mentors give a lot of emphasis on grooming, presentation, communication, mock interviews, and overall personality development, to ensure that HIT students stand out differently. The college has a wonderful infrastructure with all the amenities. Wi-Fi, computer labs, HM Labs mock bar are well equipped to make students industry-ready.

When many people across the world were losing jobs, I got an amazing campus placement (during the Lockdown and global shut down) with India’s leading Company, Reliance valued at over $237.91 Billion. HIT was always there for its students despite the Lockdown. Our 6th semester classes were conducted professionally online & course was completed on time. Thankfully an Alumni friend from HIT had recommended I join this college. Before joining HIT I had no idea about its immense Industry connect and the corporate preparedness efforts it invests on each student. But HIT taught me many new things and gave me lots of opportunities for Industry Interaction. I went for numerous industry visits where I got to observe & learn how industries work internally. Even though my BCA course contained a lot of coding and core subjects, the HIT placement cell provided was specifically designed to crack the interview questions and pass all the preliminary interview rounds.
